GAINESVILLE – The No. 4 Gators kick off an eight-game road stretch with a weekend series at Mississippi State (20-9, 4-5) and hope to rebound from a home loss to UCF on Tuesday.
Florida (24-6, 7-2) is in a four-way tie for first in the SECwith Vanderbilt, South Carolina and Alabama.
Sophomore right-hander Hudson Randall (5-0, 0.54 ERA) has been named SEC Pitcher of the Week twice in the past three weeks and will get the start on Friday. Sophomore LHP Brian Johnson is slated to start Saturday, and freshman RHP Karsten Whitson is scheduled for Sunday’s game.
